Stephen Prassas
Principal

Stephen was initially interested in becoming a golf course architect, but upon learning more about the profession, he became drawn to the full range of possibilities that landscape architecture offers. His career includes seven years working with one of Hoerr Schaudt’s namesake founders, Peter Schaudt, where he worked on some of our most acclaimed commercial projects: Uptown Normal Circle, North Burnham Park at Soldier Field, and Gary Comer Youth Center. A Chicagoan through and through, Stephen cites opening day of Soldier Field in 2003 as one of his favorite career memories so far. Before joining Hoerr Schaudt, he spent 16 years running his own landscape architecture firm, a practice dedicated to the thoughtful design of landscapes by integrating sustainability and innovation.

Outside the office, Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, catching up on episodes of Ozark, and putting his self-proclaimed cookie connoisseur skills to the test. He has also been involved with Lawrence Hall, a community-based organization committed to helping heal the effects of childhood trauma. Stephen has spent about 25 years working with the organization, including a role as president of their junior board and designing a therapeutic garden for their campus.
