Controller

This role will guide and lead the day-to-day financial team. This individual will be responsible for creating the proper systems, controls, and work environment to ensure accurate reporting and appropriate internal controls. This role will also be involved in analyzing the performance of the business, helping to establish budgets, and forecasting. The Controller will help direct, train, and coach other members of the finance team.

This role reports to the CFO.

Responsibilities

• Establish and monitor appropriate cash management procedures to ensure proper liquidity at the different Hoerr Schaudt related entities.
• Generate and review monthly financial statements, including a P&L, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flow, and Partner Capital Accounts.
• Work with the CFO and President to create and establish appropriate Business Line Analysis and related reporting.
• Work with the CFO to establish proper internal controls.
• Responsible for administering and reviewing the firm’s risk management / insurance programs.
• Perform and review required bank and loan compliance reporting.
• Work with the CFO and to develop an annual budget and quarterly business forecasts.
• Responsible for developing, coaching and recruiting appropriate staff for the finance team.
• Other projects / analysis as requested by the CFO or President
• Responsible for the development and understanding of all key financial processes. Serves as key stakeholder for all financial functions in any business system.
• Accounting support for other related entities. Includes 1555 Fulton Partners, DHLA Inc, HSLA Partners and other related party entities.
• Participate in weekly accounting team meetings.
• Oversee VantagePoint data and use

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant accounting experience. Preferably with a professional services firm.
• 5+ years of management experience
• Proficient with Excel
• Deltek or NetSuite Experience a plus
• CPA or CMA a plus
