Studio Leader, Construction Management

Minimum 15 years' experience required

This critical role is responsible for the leadership and day-to-day operations of the Construction Management Division of Hoerr Schaudt. Working with their team, this person will manage all aspects associated with Construction Management including: bidding, sales, sequencing, scheduling, construction, contractor invoice management and quality control assessment of landscape projects on the behalf of clients.

This role reports to the Fieldworks Division Operations Manager at Hoerr Schaudt.

The Fieldworks Division encompasses Construction Administration, Horticulture, and Continued Landscape Management.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and overseeing the business plan in collaboration with the leadership team at Hoerr Schaudt
  • Creating and overseeing the process for proposal development
  • Leading business development to build out the division
  • Working with marketing and Hoerr Schaudt leadership to develop the identity for this division
  • Developing job descriptions and responsibilities for team
  • Ensuring the division’s business system and process operates to create greatest efficiencies and reporting
  • Training staff and holding them accountable to clearly communicated individual and team goals
  • Leading weekly team meetings
  • Refining current processes and suggesting and implementing new ones to lead to growth and greater efficiencies
  • Developing a QA/QC process for project delivery
  • Maintaining an appropriate list of applicable contractors in all primary client geographies and developing new relationships to allow for growth
  • Developing scorecard benchmarks and reporting to leadership
  • Participate in weekly Fieldworks Ops team meetings
  • Forecasting growth and profitability and aligning systems and processes to ensure goals can be met

Qualifications

  • Hands-on, proven ability to coordinate the delivery of large scale, high quality, single family residential projects
  • Experience leading teams
  • Direct experience with high end residential clients, builders and subcontractors
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience in managing a P/L
  • Enjoy working within a hands-on strategic environment
  • A desire to mentor, train and support the development of team members
  • Drive to maintain and communicate highest quality expectations for all aspects of project delivery
  • A desire to develop an environment which supports growth of both team and individuals
  • Experience with refining business systems, processes and sales
  • An understanding of best business practices
  • Maintains a current network of applicable subcontractors and vendors
