Summerfield
Trading is a vendor of high-quality landscape related product lines and a
subsidiary of Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects. These products include
but are not limited to, plant materials, bulk organic goods, paving materials,
garden furnishings and accessories, etc.
Role Description
At Summerfield Trading, the Sales, Buyer + Logistics Manager reports to the head of Summerfield Trading and is responsible for the following duties to support the business:
- Develop pre-sales orders based on specified material lists provided by Hoerr Schaudt Project Managers.
- Coordinate with Hoerr Schaudt Project Managers and design teams to gather necessary information in order to source required products from vendors which match the specifics provided by Hoerr Schaudt.
- Request, review, and file all vendor quotations and ensure the quoted materials are in line with what was requested- reconcile vendor availability with HSLA pre-sales orders as needed.
- Ensure the sourcing process provides the highest quality materials available while also ensuring that any and all efficiencies associated with volume purchasing, logistics etc. are realized.
- Finalize sales quotes including applicable warranties, materials, shipping costs, sales tax, benchmark profit margins, deposit requirements and client approvals.
- Secure materials with vendors as needed and coordinate HSLA review and selection of specific materials as needed when any subjectivity exists, i.e., plant material, handmade artistic elements with variability, etc.
- Coordinate harvest of plant material, manufacturing timelines, shipping/logistical requirements, etc. with both Hoerr Schaudt team, client and the party who will be receiving the products at their final destination on time.
- Follow-up to inspect material, damage claims, rejections, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, etc. This may require some in-person visits.
- Ensure all invoicing and accounts receivable are accurately processed and reconciled in a timely manner.
- Assist from time to time with the research and development of new product lines.
