Avery has always had a strong connection to nature and admiration for plants. As someone with a proclivity for art and design as well as math and science, landscape architecture felt like the best career fit. Born and raised in the swamps of Louisiana, Avery attended Louisiana State University. During this time, they worked at a local nursery and briefly as a Planting Design Intern at the Neighborhood Design Center in Baltimore.
When they're not in the office or on-site for a plant layout, Avery is all about finding new ways to learn and grow every day—they enjoy skating, singing, dancing, and reading. A few of their favorite reads on their bookshelf include Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, All About Love by Bell Hooks, And The Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseni.
