Caitlin originally planned to study architecture because she wanted to do something creative within the built environment. In reality, she kept finding herself focusing on the surrounding areas of a building instead of the buildings themselves. Falling into landscape architecture simply made sense when she realized it best aligned with her interest in plants, people, art, and the environment.

A Detroit suburbs native and now Chicago resident, Caitlin is undoubtedly drawn to the Great Lakes. She has fond memories of caravanning with her grandparents in their Airstream trailer and visiting lighthouses along the Great Lakes. Her next dream destination would be a visit to Isle Royale in Lake Superior to explore and enjoy its wilderness.
