Designer II

Philanthropy and the arts have long been a part of Isra’s family lore, impacting the way she observes the world. A background in art, combined with a passion for volunteer work with refugee organizations, inspired her to pursue a Master’s in Landscape Architecture and a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning to understand the harmony between design and policy for marginalized communities. She was also drawn into the industry from a curiosity to learn how the hidden influences of environmental, social, and cultural networks play into the physical and mental health of communities.

As a Pakistani-American who grew up in the Middle East, Isra traveled to many countries during her childhood, gaining exposure to a variety of places, cultures, languages, and landscapes. A love of travel led her to pick up landscape photography, which she continues to enjoy as a hobby today. Outside of the office, she enjoys reading, going to concerts, and seeking out the best bowl of noodles in Chicago.
