Jorge Luis Mayorga
Associate III

Jorge was born in Jalisco, Mexico, and grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago, where he gained hands-on experience in landscape design, installation, and construction through his family’s landscaping company. With over seven years of experience as a design professional, he has applied his expertise in both construction and design to create meaningful, resilient spaces that enhance urban communities. His passion for sustainability and social impact led him to pursue a Master of Landscape Architecture and Urbanism, equipping him with the skills to collaborate across disciplines in designing urban landscapes that address climate challenges.

Jorge is committed to creating environments that foster deep connections between people and nature. He co-founded Human Scale, a design-build nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming disinvested spaces into vibrant community gathering landscapes. Beyond his design work, he is actively involved in professional and environmental organizations, including ASLA, the Olmsted Network, and Friends of the Chicago River, where he continues to advocate for sustainable, community-centered landscapes.
