Heavily influenced by her education in the fine arts, Julie is passionate about creative problem solving. Her background in painting has given her an exceptionally fine-tuned eye, while also arming her with the skills needed to concoct solutions that are not only visually imaginative, but practical. She loves projects that require both research and inventiveness and encourages clients to think about their goals without restraint.
In addition to her work at Hoerr Schaudt, Julie teaches Planting Design at the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Regenstein School. A native of Illinois, she ventured to the west coast to pursue a Master of Fine Arts at Claremont Graduate University, returning to earn a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois.
