Here we are in the depths of a cold and windy Chicago winter and now that we’ve melted ourselves out of last month’s blizzard, we’re happily dreaming of spring! (Do we really have to get through March before seeing some green?!)
To keep up our spirits, we’re posting a few photos of favorite Chicago area gardens (both residential gardens and public gardens) in winter – the truest season to test a garden’s design.
Evergreen trees and shrubs provide year-round structure and form as snow blows off Lake Michigan at the Tiffany & Co. Celebration Garden in Chicago’s Grant Park. See the project in warmer seasons here.
Rose arbors, boxwood hedges, and an antique French fountain create year-round interest in this suburban Manor Garden. Click here to see the roses in bloom!
