Hoerr Schaudt is honored to be named a recipient of the 2026 Arthur Ross Award from the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA). The Arthur Ross Awards recognize individuals and organizations whose work advances and preserves the classical tradition across disciplines including architecture, landscape design, the arts, education, and craftsmanship.

Presented annually by the ICAA, the awards celebrate contemporary leaders whose work reflects a deep understanding of classical principles and their continued relevance in the built environment. Hoerr Schaudt was recognized for its contributions to landscape architecture and its commitment to designing landscapes that draw on the enduring language of classical design while responding thoughtfully to contemporary contexts.

"The foundation of Hoerr Schaudt's practice lies in horticultural design, a principle deeply ingrained in founder Doug Hoerr's craftsmanship, plant knowledge, and instinctual understanding of the land. Doug's formative experiences, including a sabbatical with renowned plantsmen John Brookes, Beth Chatto, Adrian and Alan Bloom, have enriched the studio's work with an enduring legacy of regal gardens and botanical wisdom. This invaluable knowledge continues to permeate through all of Hoerr Schaudt's projects, infusing them with a timeless quality and a deep respect for the art of horticulture." - Michael G. Imber, FAIA (Michael G. Imber Architects)

The 45th Annual Arthur Ross Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City, where recipients from across the design and arts community will be celebrated.
