We’re honored to share that Hoerr Schaudt is featured in Galerie’s Summer 2026 issue in “The Ultimate Guide to Creating the Perfect Outdoor Space,” a story exploring how designers transform outdoor entertaining areas into fully realized extensions of the home.

The feature highlights our Palm Springs project, The Wabi-Sabi House, in the section “Natural Order.” Set at the base of the Chino Canyon cliffs, the landscape was designed to respond to the site’s boulder-strewn terrain and natural desert conditions. Associate Principal John Hreno organized the outdoor spaces with a measured approach inspired by Japanese garden principles, placing a monolithic dining table and grill alongside a jet-black marbleized tile pool to support a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor living. As John shares in the article, “Everything was arranged based on function over form. If it doesn’t work, who cares what it looks like?”

Thank you to Galerie and writer Ryan Waddoups for including Hoerr Schaudt, and to Douglas Friedman and Anita Sarsidi for capturing the project so beautifully.
