September 22, 2023 - Gateway Jax announced plans this week for a $500 million mixed-use development in the North Core area of Downtown Jacksonville. In addition to new apartments and retail, the first phase will transform an underutilized area of the city with improved pedestrian flows and new public spaces that encourage community gathering.
We're thrilled to be the landscape architect working on this project alongside architect Elkus Manfredi, engineer England-Thims & Miller Inc., and law firm Driver, McAfee, Hawthorne & Diebenow. We look forward to creating a new, welcoming public space through creative placemaking and the innovative use of horticulture to celebrate Jacksonville's culture, history, and future.
