Hoerr Schaudt is honored to announce that the Wabi Sabi House in Palm Springs has received a LUXE Interiors + Design RED Award (Regional Winner) for Landscape Architecture.
Set within the dramatic terrain of Desert Palisades, the Wabi Sabi House is a study in restraint, material honesty, and deep respect for the land. Designed in collaboration with Jill Lewis Architecture, the project embraces the principles of wabi-sabi—finding beauty in imperfection and harmony in natural systems—resulting in a landscape that feels both timeless and inevitable.
Our approach focused on restoring and amplifying the site’s native ecology, weaving together desert-adapted plantings, sculptural stone, and water-conscious strategies to create an immersive, living experience. The landscape unfolds as a series of distinct yet interconnected moments, choreographed to reflect the rhythms and elemental forces of the desert.
This recognition from LUXE Interiors + Design celebrates design excellence across the country and highlights work that meaningfully connects architecture, landscape, and environment.
