We’re honored to be featured in the latest issue of Modern Luxury Interiors, where writer Madison Duddy highlights our Portsmouth, Rhode Island project, Third Beach Garden.

Designed by Doug Hoerr, the landscape transforms an already remarkable coastal property into an immersive garden experience, unfolding as a series of distinct yet connected outdoor rooms. Drawing inspiration from Kyoto’s Tōfuku-ji Temple and the site’s existing collection of mature trees and specimen plantings, the design balances structure and softness, creating moments of discovery at every turn.

As Doug shares in the article, “The mown paths attract the eye and seduce the view, turning a passive lawn into an experience.” From the intimate courtyard garden to the sweeping meadow overlooking the bay, the project invites visitors to wander, pause, and engage with the landscape throughout the seasons.

Thank you to Modern Luxury Interiors for sharing the story of this special garden.
