Raised in Baltimore, Johanna jumped at the chance to experience another great American city—landing in Chicago. Drawn to the psychology of design and the human experience, she earned a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Maryland. While in college she interned at a Washington, D.C. architecture firm, then taught elementary school art before joining Hoerr Schaudt’s Siteworks team. A lifelong visitor to construction sites, Johanna loves watching ideas become tangible spaces, brings order and clarity to complex problems, and champions sustainability. Outside work, you’ll find her reading Agatha Christie, running, collecting vinyl, or knitting.
