Samuel grew up just outside Chicago in Berwyn where art was always a through-line. Drawing, painting, picture books, and sculptures filled his childhood. In college at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, that creative instinct intersected with a growing awareness of the climate crisis. Courses in sustainability and environmental systems shaped his understanding of design as both cultural expression and climate infrastructure and that ultimately led him to landscape architecture.
After spending the summer of 2024 living on an island in Florida and working on design along the Gulf Coast, Samuel returned home to Chicago to begin his professional career and to be close to family and friends. He is especially passionate about designing sustainable landscapes that actively respond to environmental challenges rather than simply decorating around them.
Outside of work Samuel plays pickleball and loves watching the Chicago Bears. He hopes one day to skydive not for the thrill but to conquer a longstanding fear of heights.
