Xinran grew up in a biodiversity hotspot in China, so it’s no wonder she was drawn to designing and working with plants. Her passion and career journey took her from Kunming, Yunnan Province to Cambridge, MA where she completed her Master of Landscape Architecture at Harvard University. Xinran is interested in the way landscape design harmonizes with nature, finding the poetic elements in every space she inhabits whether she is visiting home or exploring the Midwest ecosystem of her new home. In her time away from the drafting table, she enjoys birding, photography, and watercolor sketching – anything that keeps her close to her love of plants.
